What Unheard Is
Unheard is a music discovery app that helps you find under-the-radar tracks based on songs you already love. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data We Collect
Account information: When you sign up, we store your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google — we do not receive or store your Google password.
Search and discovery data: We store the songs you search for and the recommendations generated so we can improve the service.
Saved tracks: Tracks you save to your collection are stored in our database linked to your account.
Usage data: We collect basic usage information (pages visited, features used) to understand how people use the app.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide music recommendations tailored to your taste
- Save and display your track collection
- Improve recommendation quality over time
- Maintain and improve the service
Third-Party Services
Unheard uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in method
- Deezer — music metadata and audio previews
- Last.fm — music similarity data
Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as needed to operate the app.
Data Retention
Your account data and saved tracks are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your saved tracks at any time from within the app.
